Assignment: Applying the Scientific Method to Everyday Life

Although the scientific method is commonly used in the sciences, it can also be a powerful tool for solving everyday problems. Think of a real-life issue you’ve experienced—whether at home, at work, with your car, or in another area of your life—and apply the scientific method to help resolve it.

Using the six steps of the scientific method as outlined in the chapter, clearly explain each step as it relates to your chosen problem. Be sure to include your detailed observations, your hypothesis, and how you would test it.
