Welcome to Introduction to Speech!

We’re excited to have you join us as we explore the dynamic and essential skill of public speaking. Throughout this course, we’ll examine several core aspects of effective communication—skills that are valuable not only in formal presentations but in your daily professional interactions as well.

Public speaking involves more than just standing in front of a room. You’ll learn how to:

• Engage your audience
• Use visual aids effectively
• Accept and apply constructive feedback
• Improve through practice and reflection

All course materials, assignments, and due dates can be found in the Modules section, accessible via the navigation tab to your left. Be sure to review the assignment details carefully to ensure you earn full credit.

I will be actively involved with you throughout this course. If you have any questions, you can contact me directly through the course messaging system. You may also post questions in the “Water Cooler” Discussion Forum, which allows your classmates to benefit from shared answers.

Please check the Announcements page regularly, as I will post updates and important reminders there.

🔹 Important Note:
You will be required to upload several video assignments to YouTube. If you do not already have a YouTube account, please create one as soon as possible. Be sure to set your videos to Public when submitting. You may remove them once the course ends.
